History
The Fairfax name has been synonymous with the Australian media industry for over 180 years, with John Fairfax first purchasing The Sydney Morning Herald in 1841. The company, originally established as John Fairfax and Sons, became known as Fairfax Media and was one of the largest media companies in Australia, having investments in newspapers, magazines, radio and the internet.
